    TNPL 2025 Highlights

The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2025 lived up to its billing and expectations. A total of 8 teams locked horns with each other and played a superb brand of cricket in the premier franchise state league of Tamil Nadu.

Considered as one of the premier state leagues in India, several international cricketers in the form of Ravichandran Ashwin, Vijay Shankar, T Natarajan and Sai Kishore, plied their trade in this league.

It was Idream Tiruppur Tamazhans, who outclassed Dindigul Dragons in a one-sided clash in the finals of the TNPL 2025. The defending champions, Dindigul Dragons, failed to live up to their expectations and faltered at the big stage.

While Sai Kishore and co. won Qualifier 1 and had a 5-day break, the Dragons first had to play the Eliminator and then the Qualifier 2 and then eventually, the finals. This workload played a huge toll on them and they failed to beat their counterparts in the high-octane finale.

Chepauk Super Gillies had a tournament of two halves! While they topped the table with 7 wins in 7 games in the league stage game, the playoffs were a nightmare for them.

The Super Gillies’ juggernaut was brought to a screeching halt in the Qualifier 1 by Idream Tiruppur Tamazhans. And then, Ravichandran Ashwin and co. humbled the Super Gillies, in the Qualifier 2 by 4 wickets.

Vimal Khumar smashed 5 sixes in 5 balls to help the Dragons qualify for the finals. While it was joy and ecstasy for the Dragons, it was despair and agony for the Super Gillies.

They did everything right but they failed to cross the final frontier during the times, it mattered the most.
