FC Goa Secure Services Of Nikhil Prabhu From Odisha FC

FC Goa has made a stellar addition to their side by adding in Nikhil Prabhu from Odisha FC. The 22-year-old defender is a solid addition to the ranks of the Gaurs and has the ability to put pressure on the opposition with his defensive skills.

He has signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with FC Goa and will be with the club till 2024. Prabhu has so far played 6 games for the Juggernauts and was a vital cog in their defense department in the games he played.

Playing for several local clubs of Mumbai and making a mark, Nikhil Prabhu was roped in by the FC Pune City Academy in 2019 and also represented the reserve team of Hyderabad FC.

“Coming from a different system, I want to absorb as much as possible at FC Goa through sessions with my coaches and teammates in order to adapt to the FC Goa way of play as quickly as possible.

I would be putting in my 100% to reach this target and be available for my team whenever called upon. I aim to help the club finish in the top six and hopefully go all the way from there,” said Nikhil Prabhu on his appointment at FC Goa.

FC Goa is coming on the back of a 4-2 dominating win against East Bengal FC in their previous Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23. They are well placed in the race for the playoffs Currently placed in the 5th position, they have 8 wins and 2 draws in their ISL 2022-23 campaign.

Nikhil Prabhu has previously plied his trade for the junior teams of Mumbai City FC and Thane FC. He hails from Maharashtra and is a good player who can make exceptional body blocks which will be crucial in the high-profile ISL 2022-23.

ISL 2022-23 will be followed by the Super Cup which will be taking place in Kerala. It will be taking place in the month of April and all the teams of ISL will be taking part in it. The winner of the I-League 2022-23 will also get a direct qualification to the league.

Teams placed between 2 and 10 in the I-League will be playing qualifiers for a direct place in the Super Cup.
