The Indian U-19 Women’s team etched history as they became the first women’s team to win an ICC event for India. In the maiden ICC U-19 Women’s World Cup, India beat England in the finals by 7 wickets to lay their hands on the prized silverware.
Shafali Verma’s women bowled out England in the 1st innings for a very paltry score of 68. It was completely one-sided as England looked completely toothless in the finals.
Titas Sadhu, Archana Devi, and Parshavi Chopra bagged 2 wickets each as the England batters did not find momentum at all while batting.
The paltry target of 69 was always going to be a cakewalk for a dominant side like India unless the England women produced something really extraordinary.
India chased the total with ease as Soumya Tiwari and Gongadi Trisha scored 24 runs each to make sure India lift the title.
