IPL 2023: CSK Official Gives Big Statement About MS Dhoni’s Retirement From IPL

The day the legendary MS Dhoni calls it quits from cricket, it will be a watershed moment for a lot of fans. MS Dhoni isn’t just a player; he is an absolute inspiration to everyone. As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 comes nearer, a lot of speculations are going around about MS Dhoni’s retirement.

Last year MS Dhoni had confirmed that he would be playing in IPL 2023 in front of the ever-so-energetic Chepauk crowd. A lot of cricket pundits feel that IPL 2023 will be the last year of MS Dhoni.

Now, a Chennai Super Kings (CSK) official has given a big statement about MS Dhoni and his retirement date.

“Yes, it will be MS’s last season as a player. That is what we know so far. But of course, it’s his decision. He hasn’t officially communicated to the management that he will go into retirement. It is a special occasion for all CSK fans as IPL returns to Chennai. But it will be a sad moment if Dhoni plays his final season,” said a CSK official to InsideSport.

MS Dhoni retired from international cricket in August 2020

MS Dhoni dropped a bombshell on 15th August 2020 when he drew curtains on his international career. He took to social media to post a very emotional video and that was the end of an era; a legacy was over.

The video went absolutely viral and till date, there are positive comments that float in to that video. It has garnered over 57 million views and has over 9.5 million likes. This speaks volumes about people’s love for MS Dhoni.

IPL 2023 to kick-start from 31st March 2023

IPL 2023 will get underway from 31st March 2023. The first game will be played between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). It will be taking place at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Chennai will be hosting its first game on 3rd April 2023 when Chennai lock horns with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). CSK’s home fans will be witnessing their team back in Chennai for the first time since 2019.
