Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja has been hogging the limelight frequently for his controversy-filled comments. He has often unabashedly hit out at the Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) and has criticized them a lot.
Ramiz Raja was recently ousted from his Chairmanship as famous Pakistani journalist Najam Sethi took over the reigns of PCB. Raja has made a comeback to his popular YouTube channel which goes by the name Ramiz Speaks.
Now speaking about a scary incident to Samaa TV, Ramiz Raja said that he received death threats when Australia came to tour Pakistan. He, therefore, used a bullet-proof car while traveling because of the threat.
“That car is with PCB. I didn’t buy that. My successor can also use it. I received a death threat. You can’t get a bullet-proof car until you face a death threat. That’s why I had it,” Raja told the journalist on Samaa TV.
“I can’t reveal the details about it (the threat). But it has been there since Australia came to Pakistan in March 2022. DIG Sahab came to my home, there was a whole report that was made. That’s why I bought it,” Raja added.
PCB threatened to take legal action against Ramiz Raja
The PCB earlier had threatened to take legal action against their former Chairman Ramiz Raja after he hit out at them and the 14-member team appointed by PCB to head the board now.
Ramiz Raja also alleged that Najam Sethi did not allow him to take his belongings from the PCB headquarters after the latter was appointed by Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Pakistan cricket team has been struggling in the longest format of the game. They crashed out of the World Test Championship (WTC) reckoning after they were steamrolled by the England cricket team, 3-0.
Pakistan presently is playing a Test series against New Zealand and the 1st Test match has ended in a stalemate.
