Avesh Khan Expresses Desire To Represent India In Test Cricket

Date:

One of the best pacers in the Indian circuit, Avesh Khan has a special request for the Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) selectors. Khan, who is a regular in the T20I circuit and the Indian Premier League (IPL), has now expressed desire to play the longest format of the game for India.

India have a packed schedule in red-ball cricket as they host Bangladesh and New Zealand after the completion of the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka. Post this, India will be going to Australia to battle it out in the highly-anticipated Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-24.

Avesh Khan, in a message, on the social media handles of the Indian Cricket Team, has said that he is ready to represent India in the whites.

“I’m very excited for Test cricket as I feel it’s a format where I can prove myself which I’ve done for my state team, India A or while Duleep, Deodhar trophy. I’m waiting for that chance as there’s a different kind of fun playing Test cricket. I love to bowl with the red ball as I bowl around 20-25 overs in a day for my state team as well. In the entire season I bowl around 300-350 overs so I’m looking forward for a chance to play Test cricket and do well for my country in the longest format,” said Avesh Khan.

Avesh Khan has also lavished praise of senior pro Jasprit Bumrah and has said that he has received a lot of guidance and tips from the yorker king.

“Like Virat bhai said, he is once in a generation bowler, it is true and we all believe so. His style of bowling and his mindset are different, but main (thing) is his execution, for which we all practice,” said the 27-year-old pacer.

“Whenever I speak with him, he tells me to focus on the execution. If you are thinking of sending down a yorker, then it has to be a yorker; it cannot be a full toss or a half volley, a bouncer has to be on the shoulders; a length ball has to be (aimed at) the top of off (stump),” Khan added.

India have clinched off the T20I series vs Zimbabwe

After receiving a lusty blow in the 1st T20I, Shubman Gill and co. have staged a solid comeback in the T20I series versus Zimbabwe. The batters and the bowlers have displayed their A-game and have secured the series in Harare.

India are presently 3-1 up in this series, with a game to go. Shubman Gill has marshalled his troops well and has led the team from the front, having scored 157 runs in 4 games at an average of 52.33.

Avesh Khan has bagged 6 wickets in 3 games and has been one of the top performers of the Indian cricket team in this series.
