‘Batta Phek Raha Hai’: Kohli’s Stump Mic Remarks Over Brathwaite’s Bowling Action In WI vs IND Test

Date:

India has shown their dominant performance so far in the 1st Test of WI vs IND, as Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal both registered impressive centuries. India concluded the day’s play at a strong score of 312/2, with Jaiswal remaining unbeaten on a remarkable 143* and Virat Kohli accompanying him on 36*.

Kohli entered the crease in the 79th over of the innings after the dismissal of Shubman Gill, with India’s score standing at 240-2. Taking his time to settle in, Kohli formed a partnership with centurion Jaiswal at the other end.

West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite introduced himself into the bowling attack in the 48th over when the opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Jaiswal were in full flow. He reappeared for another spell in the 90th over, this time targeting the partnership between Kohli and Jaiswal.

During his innings on Day 2, Kohli’s comments captured by the stump mic raised eyebrows. He was heard saying ‘Bhatta fenk raha hai,’ which creates doubts about the legality of Brathwaite’s bowling action. While Kohli did not escalate the issue with the on-field umpire, it remains to be seen if the former Indian captain raises concerns regarding this matter on Day 3.

The Test match continues to unfold with India is in complete control, thanks to the splendid performances of Jaiswal and Kohli. As the action shifts to Day 3, fans anticipate further fascinating cricketing encounters between these two competitive sides.
