Can India End Their 11-Year Title Drought & Win The T20 World Cup 2024?

Date:

Time and again, India has failed to cross the final hurdle in ICC events. Be it the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 or the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, the Indian cricket team has always reached the knockout round and have failed to win the silverware.

The best shot at winning an ICC title came in November 2023 at the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 when Rohit Sharma and co. had a dream-run to the finals. They has registered wins in all their league stage games and had outclassed New Zealand in the semi-finals.

But it was Pat Cummins and co. who had the last laugh in the finals as they got the better off India in front of a packed Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 19th November 2023.

Cut to 2024 and India will be looking to win their 2nd ICC T20 World Cup title in USA and West Indie.

India has named a strong and formidable squad and it will be captained by Rohit Sharma. Most of the players are on song and would be looking to end India’s long trophy drought.

If we take a look at the batting department, then it should be Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma at the opening positions. It’s a left-right combination and is enough to disrupt the momentum and rhythm of the opposition bowlers.

Virat Kohli is in the form of his life and after plundering 741 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Kohli would be confident of having a good sojourn in USA and West Indies.

The middle-order is packed with star batters in the form of Surya Kumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya. Pandya is India’s best seam-bowling all-rounder and he will be joined by star left-arm all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja.

The likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav form India’s weapons in the spin-bowling department and Jasprit Bumrah will be India’s backbone in the pace-bowling department.

If we rate India’s probable playing XI, then it is quite a strong one and we would give in 9/10. Therefore, we believe that India has a strong chance of ending their trophy drought for 11 years and bringing joy and happiness into the lives of all its ardent supporters.
