Delhi Capitals are seeking to replace their captain and top wicketkeeper as Rishabh Pant prepares for a protracted absence from cricket due to an accident. Pant is very certain to miss this year’s IPL, and his sole focus will be on finding a way to get healthy in time for the ODI World Cup, which will take place in India later this year.
The Delhi Capitals management is thinking about approaching David Warner to take over as team captain while Pant is out. David Warner has already led SRH to win a final. Warner might be the perfect candidate to replace Pant as captain of the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023. However, any official confirmation on who will captain Delhi Capitals is still awaited.
As reported in TOI, a source told on Wednesday, “Pant has been the mainstay of the middle-order Warner has the experience of leading IPL teams. The management will speak to him.”
