Disney+Hotstar was unavailable on Friday, disappointing fans. Cricket fans in India missed most of the action on Day 1 of the IND vs AUS 2nd Test due to Disney+Hotstar Down, and they criticized Walt Disney for the oversight. Thankfully, the problem has been resolved, and a number of devices have restarted the OTT platform.
The OTT service Disney + Hotstar was inaccessible to a large number of subscribers. Many users have raised their complaints about this platform being unavailable. In the middle of the game, users were claiming that the platform had abruptly gone down.
Even on Down detector, a lot of people are whining about this. If consumers are to be believed, they cannot access Disney+ Hotstar on any device, including a mobile device, laptop, or television.
Disney+ Unexpected technical problems were being experienced by Hotstar on both their apps and website. The streaming service acknowledged that a team is attempting to find a quick solution to the problem.
According to sources, the most outages were recorded in Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Chandigarh. Twitter users claim that Hotstar’s downtime is due to the domain name expiring.

Many are complaining about the unavailability of Disney+ Hotstar on Twitter as well. In addition, users are providing screenshots. Also, some users have posted a TV video in which it is evident that the service cannot be accessed by subscribers.
A user tweeted. “LOL, no wonder the entire #Hotstar website is down – their domain expired and they’ve just renewed it a while ago”
Abhinav Mukund tweeted “Is it me or is the Hotstar app down? It keeps saying an error has occurred, anyone got a fix for it?”
“Hotstar down,” A user tweeted.
“Just read a reason why Hotstar has been down. Can’t stop laughing right now. The domain expired and someone forgot to renew it. Woah… if that’s true, this year’s Diwali bonuses are already out of the window.”
Disney+Hotstar is India’s most used OTT platform
With a 29% market share, Disney+Hotstar is the most popular OTT platform in India. India’s domestic matches are only live-streamed on the site because Disney-Star holds the BCCI Media Rights.
As of December 31, 2022, there were 57.7 million subscribers to the streaming service owned by Disney. Disney+ Hotstar lost 3.8 Mn subscribers in the quarter of October to December 2022 as a result of losing the IPL media rights.
