The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the prize money structure for the highly anticipated ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to take place in Pakistan and the UAE from February 19 to March 9, 2025.
This edition marks the return of the tournament after a hiatus since 2017, and it promises to be a significant event in the cricketing calendar.
ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Prize Money
The ICC has announced a substantial total prize pool of $6.9 million, reflecting a 53% increase from the previous edition held in 2017, which had a prize pool of $4.5 million. The breakdown of the prize money is as follows:
- Winners: The champions will receive $2.24 million (approximately ₹19.5 crore).
- Runners-Up: The team finishing second will earn $1.12 million (around ₹9.72 crore).
- Losing Semi-Finalists: Each losing semi-finalist will take home $560,000 (about ₹4.86 crore).
- Group Stage Wins: Each victory in the group stage is valued at over $34,000.
- Fifth and Sixth Place Teams: Teams finishing in these positions will each receive $350,000.
- Seventh and Eighth Place Teams: These teams will take home $140,000 each.
- Participation Fee: All eight participating teams are guaranteed a minimum of $125,000 for competing in the tournament.
Tournament Structure
The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 will feature eight of the world’s top One Day International (ODI) teams, divided into two groups of four.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, culminating in the final on March 9, where the champions will be crowned.
