    The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 came to a conclusion on 20th October 2024 after New Zealand women lifted their maiden Women’s T20 World Cup title. The Sophie-Devine led side defeated South Africa women at the Dubai International Stadium by 32 runs in the all-important finals.

    6-time World Champions, Australia women, were defeated by South Africa women in the semi-finals and they failed to defend their title. It was also the first time in 15 years that Australia women didn’t feature in the finals.

    It was a great exponent for cricket’s equality as the unparalleled dominance of Australia women made things extremely difficult for the other teams to put up a show.

    India women failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2016 as defeats at the hands of New Zealand women and Australia women in the group-stage, ended their campaign.

    The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 as an exhibition of pure class, exuberance and excitement. It was a spectacle of an event in UAE and helped the cricket fans in the Middle-East to enjoy cricket in its grandest form.

    In the finals we witnessed a combined batting and bowling effort from New Zealand women that helped them register a victory against South Africa women. Amelia Kerr scored 43 runs in 38 balls and also bagged 3 wickets to seal the deal for New Zealand women.

    Kerr also bagged the player of the tournament award for her consistent performances right throughout the tournament. She was a force to reckon with in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 as she helped New Zealand women register a fantastic sojourn in UAE.

    The 24-year-old cricketer scored 135 runs and also bagged 15 wickets and helped New Zealand women lift their maiden title.
