India crushed New Zealand’s chasing effort by reducing them to 66 off 12.1 overs in the third T20I between the two teams at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, giving them a 168-run victory.
Shubman Gill’s first T20I century and Hardik Pandya’s four-wicket haul helped Team India thrash New Zealand in the third and final T20I match, winning 2-1 and clinching the three-match series.
In the third India-New Zealand T20I, the series-deciding game, India won the toss and decided to bat first. Umran Malik was reinstated by India in favor of Yuzvendra Chahal. The guests also made one alteration, swapping Jacob Duffy for Ben Lister.
After deciding to bat first, Team India amassed a mammoth score of 234/4 in 20 overs because of Rahul Tripathi’s 44 off 22 balls and Gill’s unbeaten 126* off 63 balls. Ish Sodhi, Michael Bracewell, Blair Tickner, and Daryl Mitchell each claimed one wicket for New Zealand.
Later, as the visitors were bowled out for 66, Hardik Pandya took four wickets, while Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, and Shivam Mavi each took two.
