Suryakumar Yadav, an Indian batsman, scored his third century in a 3rd T20I against Sri Lanka on Saturday in Rajkot.
At 52 for two within the PowerPlay, Suryakumar blasted up a 45-ball tonne after walking to the plate. Shubman Gill and Suryakumar added 77 runs in just 34 balls before Gill was dismissed for 46, dominating a 111-run third-wicket stand.
The 32-year-old then glided to his first century in the format at home with a single in the 19th over. As India scored a daunting 228/5 in 20 overs, he finished unbeaten on 112 off just 51 balls, with seven fours and nine sixes.
In July of last year, in Nottingham, Suryakumar, who had a phenomenal run as the top T20I run-scorer in 2022 (1164 in 31 innings), hit his first T20I century against England.
One of the five hitters with three or more T20I centuries is Suryakumar. With four hundreds, Rohit Sharma tops the record. Glenn Maxwell (3), Colin Munro (3), and Sabawoon Davizi are next (3). Additionally, Suryakumar and Maxwell are the first players to score a T20I century in three separate nations.
