India vs Sri Lanka Schedule 2024 Revised: T20I, ODI Match Dates, Time, Venue

Date:

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced revisions to the upcoming limited-overs series between India and Sri Lanka. The series, originally scheduled to commence on July 26, will now begin a day later on July 27, with the first T20I taking place in Pallekele.

The T20I series will be played entirely at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, with the second match scheduled for July 28 and the third on July 30. The ODI series, which was initially set to begin on August 1, has been postponed by one day and will now start on August 2. The second and third ODIs will be held on August 4 and 7, respectively.

Despite the changes, the venues for the matches remain unchanged, and no matches have been sacrificed due to the revised schedule. The series will mark India’s first white-ball bilateral tour to Sri Lanka since 2021.

The BCCI has not yet announced the Indian squad for the tour, but reports suggest that senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma may be rested. It is expected that Hardik Pandya will captain the T20I team, while KL Rahul may be appointed as the ODI captain.

The series will also see the debut of new head coaches for both teams. India will be guided by Gautam Gambhir, who takes over from Rahul Dravid, while Sri Lanka have named Sanath Jayasuriya as their interim head coach.
