IPL 2023: 3 Players Who Can Replace Kyle Jamieson In Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Squad

Date:

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been struck a major blow just one month before the start of the IPL 2023, as Kyle Jamieson of New Zealand is expected to be ruled out from the tournament. Kyle Jamieson was one of the surprise auction picks by CSK.

After battling a back stress fracture, Kyle Jamieson, who was selected by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during the IPL 2023 auction for Rs. 1 crore, is expected to miss at least 3 to 4 months of play. He is set to miss the forthcoming IPL 2023.

The inaugural match of IPL 2023 between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings will take place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 31, 2023. There will be a total of 74 matches in the tournament. Live streaming of every IPL game will be available on JioCinema and the Star Sports Network TV channel.

The need for a bowler who can perform well toward the end is now very important for CSK. A capable lower middle-order batsman with a competent medium-pace bowling all-arounder can also be a nice fit.

In choosing Jamieson’s replacement for the IPL 2023, the management will take these things into account. Look at the 3 players CSK may sign to replace Kyle Jamieson for IPL 2023.

Dasun Shanaka

One of the players CSK can sign to replace Kyle Jamieson for the IPL 2023 is Dasun Shanaka. Surprisingly, Dasun Shanaka received no attention from teams at the IPL 2023 Auctions. He has performed well on Indian pitches and is a strong finisher. He performed really well against India in the recently concluded bilateral series.

Shanaka would be a good fit for CSK because he can also bowl a little bit and the team may require a lower middle-order alternative. Shanaka may be a valuable member of the playing XI.

Gerald Coetzee

CSK will undoubtedly consider Coetzee from the Johannesburg Super Kings in SA20. The speedster had a strong season and astonished many people with his appearance. CSK would be highly interested in bringing the player on board given that he has prior experience playing for the same management.

The player would benefit from this knowledge in SA20 as well. He had a productive SA20 campaign, taking 17 wickets in 9 games with an average of 13.52 and an economy rate of 8.07. He was among the top 2 most wicket takers in SA20 2023. He can also tonk the ball far as he was promoted to open the inning in the semifinal.

Riley Meredith

Riley Meredith played for the Mumbai Indians last year after receiving a huge amount from the Punjab Kings for the IPL 2021. He didn’t find any buyers at the IPL 2023 auction, but now that Jamieson has been ruled out for CSK, he might get a second chance.

Meredith has always had the ability to bowl with a great pace, but it was his control during his time with the Hobart Hurricanes in the most recent Big Bash League season that stood out. He appears to have matured into a complete player who can swing the ball, pick up speed, and unleash quick, booming yorkers.
