One of the eight players released by Chennai Super Kings during the IPL 2023 retention window was Adam Milne. Milne was purchased at the IPL 2022 mega auction for 1.90 crores. He had a hamstring injury in the very first game of the season, though, and was forced to withdraw from the competition. CSK has chosen Matheesha Pathirana of Sri Lanka to take the place of the New Zealand pacer.
After the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, CSK was Milne’s third team. For RCB, Milne made his IPL debut back in 2016. In 2016 he played just one game, and in 2017 he played four. Milne may be a useful addition to the lineup for a team looking for death over bowler specialist. Know the 3 teams who might target Adam Milne in the upcoming IPL 2023 auction.
While the Royals’ batting was excellent in the previous IPL, they failed to find a fifth bowling option as even their top bowlers were hammered for runs in the final overs.
Trent Boult, a Kiwi left-arm, is the leader of the Royals’ attack, and he is well supported by Prasidh Krishna and the pair of Indian spinners. They have all performed flawlessly, taking wickets during the powerplay and being economical during the middle overs, but Milne satisfies their need for a death bowling option.
Umran Malik represents the team as a pure fast bowler. All of the other bowlers are seamers, with Washington Sundar serving as the team’s only dedicated spinner. Aiden Markram can contribute a couple of overs as well. The SRH management can support Milne and secure him because they still have over 40 crores in their IPL auction purse.
He will also provide a dash of speed to the side. He, Malik, and Marco Jansen have the potential to develop into a dependable pace three for the team.
Gujarat Titans have suffered a significant loss in pace as a result of the release of Lockie Ferguson and Varun Aaron. Despite Mohammed Shami’s expertise, Alzarri Joseph is the only specialized fast bowler in the lineup. Milne can be a useful addition to the side with his tremendous and raw pace. Gujarat Titans won the IPL championship for the first time thanks in large part to their use of pace. Milne’s addition will make it even better.
