IPL 2023 Auction Deadline

The BCCI has set December 15 as the final day for players to register with the IPL 2023 mini-auction scheduled for December 23. Even though certain franchises won’t be able to bid because of the remaining purse amount, Sam Curran, Ben Stokes, and Cameron Green are likely to be the main attraction during the IPL 2023 auction.

Along with the English pair, Joe Root, a former England Test captain, has also registered for the IPL 2023 auction and is looking for a bidder.

As per reports, all teams requested BCCI to reschedule the IPL 2023 auction in Kochi. This is because the foreign staff, including coaches, may not be able to make the December 23 date because it is so close to Christmas and they will be spending the holiday season with their families. However, franchisees’ requests to move the auction date are now being considered by BCCI. But that won’t be decided in full until the next week.

“December 15 is the player registration deadline. We expect some top players to enroll. As for the auction date, December 23 is the set date for now. We are discussing some franchises’ requests to advance the date. But there are other factors involved. Only after deliberation with all stakeholders, we will come to a decision,” a BCCI official told InsideSport.

IPL Auction Registration Deadline:

The IPL 2023 auction day will see about 250 players put up for bid. Players must register for the auction by December 15 at 5 PM before that.

There won’t be many big names because the mega auction was just a season ago and is already over. Franchises do, however, tend to spend more during the mini auctions. There may be a bidding war because Ben Stokes, Cameron Green, and Sam Curran are the three prominent names in the auction pool.

IPL 2023 mini-auction date

Prior to the month of February, two days were dedicated to the IPL 2022 mega auctions, which brought two additional teams to the competition. However, the December 23 mini-auction will only last for one day.

The majority of teams have already put together their core squads and would like to make any additional required alterations before the next season of the Indian Premier League, which will continue to use the current structure of the home and away games.
