The 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is all set to begin. IPL has grown to be the nation’s favourite T20 competition. Fans have praised their favourite teams and captains throughout the past ten years.
Ten teams will compete in the league stage of the 16th IPL season in a double round-robin home-and-away format, with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs (the Eliminator, two Qualifiers, and the Final).
There will be 74 total matches in the upcoming season. Also, BCCI made the IPL 2023 schedule available. The season opener between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings will take place on March 31 in accordance with the IPL schedule for 2023.
During the IPL Auction 2023 in December 2022, all 10 teams finalised their squads. With the exception of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who picked Aiden Markram as their captain, the majority of other teams had also announced their captains for the season.
Rishabh Pandey, the star player and captain of the Delhi Capitals, was involved in an accident in late December 2022, which made him ineligible for the remainder of the season. Hence, DC will also choose a new captain for the forthcoming campaign; David Warner and Axar Patel are anticipated to take over control. Shikhar Dhawan, a seasoned Indian opener, had previously been appointed as Punjab Kings’ captain for the IPL 2023 season. CSK is again in the hand of Captain cool MS Dhoni.
For the forthcoming season of the lucrative league, the majority of franchises have also revealed their coaching and backroom staff, along with their captains. A new face will be coaching and managing the squads for the Punjab Kings.
Following Brendon McCullum’s appointment for the England Test team, the Kolkata Knight Riders also hired a new head coach. Mark Boucher has been hired by the Mumbai Indians to serve as their head coach, and Brian Lara has been appointed to that position at Sunrisers following the resignation of Tom Moody. Know the complete details on IPL 2023 captains and coaches of all 10 teams for IPL 2023.
