The T20 domestic league of India, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is the epitome of grandeur, glitz, and excitement. Every year, the IPL brings truckloads of joy and happiness to cricket fans across the globe. The IPL started way back in 2008 and has been one of the best T20 leagues in the world.
The competition in IPL exceeds all other T20 leagues in the world and several international players and coaches heap huge amounts of praise on the IPL. The IPL 2023 is slated to begin in March 2023 and the mini-auction will take place in December, according to several reports.
Former Australian cricketer and current Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor David Hussey has now shared his views about the league. He has labeled the IPL as the “Best T20 League in the world”.
“The IPL is still paramount. It’s still the best T20 competition in the world. So, any aspiring athlete or any aspiring cricketer wants to play in that tournament and would like to play in that tournament for as long as they possibly can because it is the biggest and the best,” said Hussey to Sportstar.
David Hussey has played for 7 seasons in the cash-rich IPL and was a part of the KKR franchise from 2008 to 2010. He then played for the Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings) franchise from 2011-2013. In 2014, he was a part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
The flamboyant batter scored 1322 runs in IPL in 64 games and was an integral part of KKR’s batting department when he played for the Purple and Gold Brigade. He continues to be associated with Shah Rukh Khan’s team in the form of a mentor.
