The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 trade window has been grabbing eyeballs with its rumours and possible moves. The world’s richest cricket league, the IPL has its buzz going on all throughout the year and the trade window has the potential to break the internet.

Firstly, there are rumours going on that Sanju Samson has requested Rajasthan Royals (RR) to let him go from the squad. Samson was the captain of RR since 2021 and even though he failed to lift a title, he had taken Rajasthan to the finals in IPL 2022.

There are speculations that Samson might come to Chennai Super Kings (CSK). If this happens, then Samson could well become the successor of MS Dhoni in the franchise.

Ravichandran Ashwin too might not continue with CSK and he could potentially go to Rajasthan Royals as per a report in Cricbuzz. While a 1-1 player transaction deal might not happen for these two players due to a disparity in the market value, RR could ask CSK for more players.

In the last couple of days, there is another rumour floating that Rajasthan have requested either of Ruturaj Gaikwad or Ravindra Jadeja in exchange for Sanju Samson.

KL Rahul is being linked with Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had a dismal season in IPL 2025 as they struggled right throughout the tournament. Perhaps, a strong leader in place of Ajinkya Rahane could solve the problem.

One of the legends of IPL, KL Rahul, is being linked with the 3-time IPL champions and if he comes to KKR, he could well take over the captaincy mantle from Ajinkya Rahane.

But KKR doesn’t have any high-value assets that they can give to Delhi Capitals (DC) in exchange for Rahul and hence this trade might not go on.

We are hopeful that in the new few weeks, we get clarity from different franchise sources about the potential trade rumours.
