A premier T20 competition, the Maharashtra Premier League, is all set to be held in June by the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA). For its forthcoming season, the MPL 2023 will follow the format of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL).
The MPL 2023 auction, held on June 6, witnessed a total of 285 players going under the hammer. Each franchise was allocated with a purse amount of of INR 20 lakh to bid on players during the auction. In order to form a complete squad, the MPL 2023 teams were required to purchase a minimum of 15 players.
