Nazmul Hossain Shanto is all set to captain Bangladesh for the white-ball series’ against New Zealand after the completion of the Test series between the two sides. The two teams are presently playing a Test series between each other and Bangladesh are gearing towards a historic win against the Kiwis.
Notably, Shanto is presently the captain of the Bangladesh cricket team in the ongoing Test series. There will be 2 Test matches in this series. While the first Test is taking place in Sylhet, the 2nd Test will be taking place in Dhaka.
Regular captain of the Bangla Tigers, Shakib Al Hasan has suffered a fracture on his finger and will stage a comeback into the field after a long time. Mahmudullah and Taskin Ahmed have been ruled out because of shoulder injuries.
The likes of Soumya Sarkar, Rakibul Hasan and Rishad Hossain have found a place in the squad of Bangladesh and would be looking to prove their mettle in the series versus the Kiwis.
Bangladesh would be looking to start off the fresh cricketing season on a high, especially after their poor campaign in the recently-concluded ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

Bangladesh tour New Zealand in the latter half of December
Nazmul Hossain Shanto and co. will be touring New Zealand in the second half od December and will be playing 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. They would be looking to play well and win the series against them.
Notably, in January 2022, Bangladesh had registered a historic 8-wicket victory against New Zealand in the Test format in New Zealand itself. It was their first-ever victory against this opposition.
Ebadot Hossain was awarded with the player of the match award for bagging 7 wickets in the match. In the 1st innings of Bangladesh, Mominul Haque and Litton Das played well as they had scored 88 and 86 runs respectively.
