Ever since India have been winning games easily and without breaking much sweat, Rohit Sharma’s astute captaincy has been applauded. The 36-year-old cricketer has been leading the team extremely well and has guided India to the finals of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

Rohit Sharma has been performing well with the willow, too. He is India’s second-highest run-getter in this marquee tournament and has mustered 550 runs so far. The template which he has adopted while playing at the top is impressive and he has kept his team before personal milestones.

Former legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh spoke extremely highly of Rohit Sharma and lauded his captaincy skills.

“The good thing about Rohit is that he’s a very good captain under pressure. He’s gained a lot of experience with the five IPL titles that he’s won. He knows when and how to use his bowlers,” said Yuvraj Singh, in conversation with Sports Tak.

Yuvraj Singh showered even more praises to the Indian captain and lauded his batsmanship as well.

“Rohit Sharma bats on a different level. If he plays 40 balls, he’ll score 7-80 runs. If he plays 100 balls, he might score a double hundred. Rohit Sharma is a team player, he’s always been a team player. For him, the team always comes first. That’s the reason he’s been so successful, especially in white-ball cricket,” Singh also said.

India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs in the semi-finals

Coming with several ghosts of the ICC ODI World Cup 2019, India had to display their A-game against the Kiwis in the 1st semi-finals. India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs in the 1st semi-finals and exorcised all the ghosts of the previous ICC tournaments.

Notably, India has always found New Zealand to be their Achilles Heels and has not had a good record against them in ICC tournaments. But they not only defeated New Zealand in the group-stage of this World Cup but also in the semi-finals to book a berth in the epic finals on 19th November 2023.

Virat Kohli, who is one of the top performers of India in the ODI World Cup 2023, had slammed his 50th ODI ton and went past the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who had 49 ODI tons.
