    The Ranji Trophy, India’s premier first-class cricket tournament, is set to kick off its 2024-25 season with an exciting format and a diverse range of participating teams. 

    This year, the tournament promises to be competitive and thrilling as it showcases domestic talent across various venues in India. 

    The Ranji matches are scheduled from October 11, 2024, with the tournament divided into two phases to mitigate weather disruptions.

    Ranji Trophy 2024-25: Format

    The format for the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 includes:

    Group Stage:

    • The tournament is split into four elite groups (A, B, C, D) and one plate group.
    • Each group consists of eight teams competing in a league format.
    • The top two teams from each elite group will qualify for the quarter-finals.

    Knockout Stage:

    • The knockout stage features quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final.
    • Quarter-final matchups will be determined based on group standings:QF 1: A1 vs C2

    Promotion and Relegation:

    • Teams finishing at the bottom of their elite groups may face relegation to the plate group for the next season.
    • The top two teams from the plate group will be promoted to the elite groups.
