Rishabh Pant Accident Update: He Is ‘Stable’ But Under Observation, Confirms BCCI Secretary Jay Shah

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah has confirmed that Rishabh Pant, who was injured in a terrible accident on Friday morning, is stable and receiving scans at Max Hospital, Dehradun (December 30). Dr. Ashish Yagnik of Max Hospital also confirmed that the Indian cricketer was under observation and his condition is stable. 

The wicketkeeper-batsman was travelling from Uttarakhand to Delhi when his car hit a divider and caught fire. The car in which Pant was travelling was on National Highway (NH) 58. He was apparently driving the Mercedes alone when he managed to escape the vehicle and was taken to the hospital right afterward.

Numerous well wishes for Pant have been expressed in the wake of the disturbing accident pictures becoming widely popular on social media. Following his car accident on Friday morning, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah assured Rishabh Pant of all the support he would need and stated that they are currently actively watching his progress. 

Pant fights his way back to recovery

Shah tweeted, “My thoughts and prayers are with Rishabh Pant as he fights his way back to recovery. I have spoken to his family and the doctors treating him. Rishabh is stable and undergoing scans. We are closely monitoring his progress and will provide him with all the necessary support.”

Rishabh Pant’s injuries: 

Doctors reported that Pant had a leg injury and a forehead injury. Although he sustained burn injuries, the authorities said his condition was not serious. The police also said that he dozed off while driving the car.

  • Two cuts on his forehead. 
  • A ligament tear in his right knee.
  • Hurt his wrist, ankle, and toe.
  • Abrasion injuries on his back.

Wishes for Pant’s speedy recovery

The cricketing fraternity has been wishing for Pant’s quick recovery since the news first surfaced. The 25-year-recovery old’s has received support from people like R Ashwin, Virender Sehwag, Ricky Ponting, VVS Laxman, Anil Kumble, Litton Das, Dinesh Karthik, Rashid Khan, and many others.
