The charismatic captain of Team India, Rohit Sharma, recently found himself in the spotlight, not for his stellar cricketing performances but for an incident on the road.
The ‘Hitman’ was issued not one, not two, but three traffic challans for over-speeding on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Rohit, known for his stylish cars, was making his way to Pune to join the Indian team for their upcoming high-octane ODI World Cup clash against Bangladesh.
According to an exclusive report by Pune Mirror, Rohit Sharma’s need for speed was on full display on the expressway, leaving traffic authorities far from impressed.
The authorities have stated that the star Indian cricketer was driving at excessively high speeds, exceeding 200 km/h and even hitting a remarkable 215 km/h at certain junctures.
Rohit Sharma, who has been in scintillating form with the bat in the ongoing World Cup, was all set to lead his team in the crucial encounter against Bangladesh.
It’s worth noting that in the previous encounter where Bangladesh won, India was playing without some of their key players, including Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah.
As the match approaches at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, one thing is certain: the conditions favor the batsmen. However, the ground has witnessed a mixed record for Team India, with four wins in seven ODIs.
Moreover, the recent track record against Bangladesh has seen India lose three out of the last four ODI encounters, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the match.
Despite his prowess on the cricket field, Rohit Sharma has a well-known reputation as a car enthusiast who enjoys driving fast. However, his love for high-speed highway driving, especially during the World Cup, has raised concerns among fans about their captain’s safety.
While Rohit’s love for speed is undeniable, ensuring safety on the road remains important, and fans hope that the ‘Hitman’ follow rules and regulations, both on and off the field.
