South Africa lock horns with West Indies in the 1st ODI of the 3-match ODI series between the two sides. The match will be taking place at the Buffalo Park Stadium in East London, South Africa.
It is slated to begin from 4:30 PM (IST) on 16th March 2023.
The hosts are coming on the back of a comfortable 2-0 Test series victory over West Indies. Temba Bavuma had a dream debut series as Test captain and also performed well with the bat.
In the 2nd Test match, Bavuma scored 172 runs in the 2nd innings and his innings was a top-drawer one.
South Africa’s new T20I captain Aiden Markram was adjudged the player of the series after his stupendous run with the willow.
He scored 276 runs in the 2 Test matches and had a phenomenal average of 69.00.
In the bowling front, Kagiso Rabada breathed fire with the ball as he finished as the leading wicket-taker in the series with 12 wickets up his sleeve.
He has however been rested for the ODI series. Even pace sensation Anrich Nortje has been rested for this series.
West Indies would be hoping to stage a strong comeback in the ODI series. As the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is slated to take place later this year, both the sides would be hoping to get some good match practice under their belt.
