The incident occurred on March 24, 2025, while Tamim was leading the Mohammedan Sporting Club in a 50-over fixture.

After receiving immediate medical attention on the field, he was rushed to a nearby hospital in Savar, located on the outskirts of Dhaka.

Dr. Debashis Chowdhury, a medical officer with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), stated, “He suffered a heart attack. What I know so far is that his heart started to function better.”
