Kotian Joins India for Final Two Tests in Border-Gavaskar Trophy
“The Men’s Selection Committee has named all-rounder Tanush Kotian as an addition to India’s squad for the fourth and fifth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy,” the BCCI statement read.
Tanush Kotian has been one of the best off-spinning all-rounder in the Indian domestic circuit. His ability to play handy cameo with the bat makes him a perfect fit choice for Team India’s requirements. He was previously part of the India A team, which tour Australia ahead of the Border-Gavaskar series.
Background and Achievements
Tanush Kotian, born on 16 October 1998, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is a Right handed lower order batsmen and right arm off break bowler.
Tanush has played domestic cricket for Mumbai and represented the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. He made his first-class debut for Mumbai in the 2018 Ranji Trophy. He made his T20 debut on 4 November 2021, for Mumbai in the 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
The 26-year old all-rounder has played 33 first-class matches, scoring 1525 runs at an average of 41 and picking up 101 wickets at an average of 25. He awarded player of tournament in 2023 Ranji Trophy, where he smashed 502 runs at an average of 41.83 and also picked up 29 at an average of 16.9.
He is currently in Hyderabad as part of the Mumbai Squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 starts on Thursday with the five-match series level 1-1
