The Hundred Men’s Competition 2024 is set to kick off on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, with the first match between the Oval Invincibles and Birmingham Phoenix at the Kennington Oval, London.
The tournament features a total of 34 matches, including the eliminator and final. A total of 8 teams are divided into two groups of four, with each team playing the others in their group once during the group stage. The top two teams from each group advance to the knockout stage, which includes eliminator matches and a final.
Instead of the standard 20 overs (120 balls) in T20 cricket, each team faces 100 balls in The Hundred. This format aims to create a faster-paced game that can be completed in around 2.5 hours.
On the other hand, in The Hundred, the batters change ends after every 10 balls, unlike in T20 where they change ends after every over (6 balls).
