In the current Ranji Trophy encounter against the defending champions, Andhra Pradesh star Hanuma Vihari walked out to bat despite having a fractured wrist.
On Day 1 of the Ranji Trophy Quarterfinals versus Madhya Pradesh, Hanuma Vihari was injured after being struck by a bouncer from pacer Avesh Khan while batting on 16.
Vihari was brought for scans, which confirmed the nature of his injury. The cricket community praised Vihari “the warrior” for his extraordinary tenacity on Twitter.

Ricky Bhui and Karan Shinde both scored centuries for Andhra Pradesh when they were put into bat, helping them to a total score of 379. After skipper Vihari was injured and had to retire, Bhui (149) and Shinde (110), Andhra were kept under control.
However, both were out for just five runs apart, leading to a batting collapse. Despite all, while batting on 27 runs Vihari was ultimately dismissed.
Anubhav Agarwal took four wickets for MP, while Gaurav Yadav and Kumar Kartikeya each took two. A wicket each was taken by Avesh Khan and Saransh Jain in the meanwhile.
