The IPL 2023 season commences on March 31 in Ahmedabad with the defending champion Gujarat Titans taking against the Chennai Super Kings. This will be the league’s first return to its regular home-and-away format in India since 2019. On May 28, the final will also take place in Ahmedabad.
The first weekend of the IPL will feature games from all 10 teams, and it will end five days after the Women’s Premier League final on March 26.
Similar to last season, the teams have been split into two groups. CSK, RCB, GT, PBKS, and SRH are in Group B, while MI, KKR, RR, DC, and LSG are in Group A.
There will be 14 league matches in total per team, with each team playing the five teams from the opposing group twice and the other four teams from their own group once. This is a change from last season.
The league stage would span 52 days from March 31 to May 21 and take place in 12 cities, with 18 doubleheaders and 70 games total.
In addition to the ten regular venues, which are Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Mohali, some games will also be played in Guwahati, the second home of the Royals, and Dharamsala, the second home of the Kings.
The Royals’ first two home games will be in Guwahati, and the final five will be in Jaipur. While the Kings will play their final two home games in Dharamsala, they will play their first five home games there. Check complete details on IPL 2023 start date & time.
