West Indies and Australia kickstart their 4th World Test Championship (WTC) cycle with a 3-match Test series amongst themselves. The 1st Test is underway and West Indies bowled the mighty Australian side out for a paltry score of 180 runs.
At the time of writing this article, West Indies are batting on 57/4 after 20 overs and their batting department is slipping on a banana peel. West Indies need to punch above their weight in order to register a victory in this game.
Australia were the runners-up of the previous WTC cycle and had lost the plot against South Africa in the all-important finals. They have dropped their star batter Marnus Labuschange from this Test series as there was a run-drought from his end.
The Australians will be playing 5 T20Is and 3 Tests against West Indies. The Test series is already underway and the shorter format is slated to begin from 20th July 2025.
We can expect this series to be a crackerjack of a series as both the sides have some quality players under their belt.
The last time West Indies won a Test series versus Australia was way back in 1992/93 and they need a special performance to match up to the prowess of that series.
