WI vs IND: 3 Talking Points Of 3rd T20I

Date:

After suffering back-to-back losses in the ongoing T20I series, Team India staged a fabulous comeback and won the 3rd T20I by 7 wickets. The likes of Surya Kumar Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav steered India to the shores of victory in a must-win game.

India looked like a fresh unit after their poor performances in the initial leg of this series in West Indies. Batting first, the hosts put on 159 runs on a challenging wicket. India in response, chased down the total with 13 balls to spare.

This was a much-needed victory for India and they made sure they ticked all the boxes in sparkling with rhythm in this game.

The 4th T20I between these two sides will be played on 12th August 2023. It is slated to begin from 8:00 PM (IST).

In this article, we take a look at 3 talking points of the 3rd T20I between West Indies and India, which was won by the visitors:

1. Surya Kumar Yadav sparkled with rhythm and rhyme

After a couple of modest performances purely based on his high standards, Surya Kumar Yadav staged a fabulous comeback. He was the architect of India’s victory as he scored 83 runs in 44 balls.

He also reached the landmark of 100 sixes in T20I cricket and once again proved that he simply bosses this format. Surya Kumar Yadav’s blistering innings was peppered with 10 fours and 4 sixes.

2. Kuldeep Yadav shone with the ball

Left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for Team India. The 28-year-old cricketer bagged 3 wickets and conceded only 28 runs in his quota of 4 overs.

His scalps included Brandon King, Johnson Charles and Nicholas Pooran. The wicket that turned the tide in favour of India was Pooran’s victory as it helped India restrict West Indies from scoring a big total.

3. Alzarri Joseph’s disciplined bowling went in vain

Alzarri Joseph has been West Indies’ most prolific bowler in this T20I series. He has picked up 4 wickets in this series so far and also bagged 2 wickets in this T20I. But his good bowling went in vain as India had the last laugh.

Joseph was also economical with the white-cherry as he conceded 25 runs in 4 overs and had an economy rate of 6.2. He dismissed Shubman Gill and then Surya Kumar Yadav in the 3rd T20I between West Indies and India at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
