World Cup 2023: Shahid Afridi Reflects On Pakistan’s Narrow Loss To South Africa

Date:

Pakistan’s narrow 1-wicket loss at the hands of South Africa on 27th November 2023 caused the internet to go into a frenzy. The Men in Green are virtually out of the competition and it would take a miraculous effort and turnaround of things for them to qualify.

Former Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi took to micro-blogging platform X to share his views on this loss of the former champions.

“The thriller #CWC23 was desperately waiting for! Hard luck boys, on any other day, things would have gone in your way. One-wicket losses are devastating, but you need to keep your chins up as you gave your best and fought gallantly till the end,” said Shahid Afridi on X, which was formerly known as Twitter.

He also acknowledged the efforts of South Africa and lavished praise on them. “Congratulations to SA for pulling victory from the jaws of defeat,” Afridi said.
