WPL 2023: Number of Registrations
Almost 1000 players have expressed interest in the Women’s IPL. The WPL’s inaugural season begins in March and is already expected to revolutionize women’s cricket.
Nevertheless, despite the fact that there are a restricted number of spots available, there is a sizable interest from the player’s perspective to be a part of history.
“Lot of interest has been seen and as many as 1000 cricketers have signed up for the WPL auction. Very healthy participation from both Indian and international players,” source tracking development told News18 Cricketnext.
The BCCI will reduce the list, just like in the IPL, before giving it to the teams for the auction. According to reports, the player pool will likely be reduced to 150.
The deadline for player registration ended on January 27. The WPL 2023 Player Auction will only include 90 players for auction. There is a limit of 18 players per squad for each team.
