The five teams competing in the first Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 assembled their teams following a demanding day during WPL 2023 auction. On February 13 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, an auction with 10 rounds and three rounds of rapid bidding took place.
The teams who participated in the auction were the Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, UP Warriors, and Gujarat Giants. Out of the 448 players up for auction, 87 were purchased for a total of 59.5 crore. 47 Indian players found teams while 30 players were overseas.
