Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), a popular game based on the gameplay of PUBG Mobile was banned in India by the government. The government cited section 69A of the IT Act, claiming that the game was breaching the security of the nation. However, Krafton the developers of the game have reassured us that they are resolving these issues. Players of the game are eagerly waiting for the game’s return to the Indian market.
Statement by Krafton
In a recent press release, PUBG and BGMI developer Krafton stated that it was working to bring BGMI back to India. The report stated, “Krafton is continuing its efforts to resume services for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and will continue investing in the Indian games market.” This is a sliver of hope for all the fans as Krafton has been relatively silent on the ban apart from this.
BGMI Expected Date Of Return – Hrishav Bhattacharjee
War Mania’s founder and CEO, Hrishav Bhattacharjee, recently visited Dreamhack Hyderabad 2022, where he networked with several Indian game developers and industry players. He broadcast a live video on his Instagram account while at the event to interact with his followers. The CEO made significant claims about Battleground Mobile India’s (BGMI) comeback during their life. He said that the game would return to India earlier than anticipated. Additionally, he also stated that the game will mostly be released between December 25, 2022, and the first week of February 2023. He added that esports competitions for it would also start in March. “During this period, you will get to see a lot of things and announcements. You will also get an official announcement from Krafton,” he said.
However, he said that global matchmaking in BGMI might not be offered upon re-launch. In order to “meet certain criteria put forward by the government,” Krafton might cooperate with the Indian government. Global matchmaking may be added to the game during the following six to seven months if this takes place.
