BGMI Roster Disbanded By Skylightz Gaming

Date:

Skylightz Gaming, a Singapore-based esports organization, has stopped operating BGMI in India. One of the gamers on the group’s Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) roster, Saumraj, revealed the information via his Instagram account.

On July 2, 2021, Krafton released Battlegrounds Mobile India, which soon became a well-known battle royale game. On July 28, 2022, on directives from the Indian government, Google Play and the App Stores banned and deleted BGMI. Following the ban, Krafton declared that they will make an effort to satisfy the government’s worries in order to remedy the BGMI-related difficulties. However, five long months after the ban on the game, some groups have given up hoping for the ban to be lifted.

Announcement by Saumraj

Saumraj announced the stopping of operations of Skylightz gaming in India on his Instagram story. The story read: “Skylightz has stopped their BGMI operations in India. So we are not a part of it anymore. A new journey awaits.”

Skylightz Gaming has not yet made a formal announcement about the same yet. Although no reason has been stated for the move by Skylightz Gaming,  However, it has been theorised that the choice was taken since BGMI was banned in India and the esports environment for the game was unresponsive. Skylightz Gaming’s BGMI roster has performed considerably well in the gaming arena. They won the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS): 2021. The squad also did exceptionally well in the Showdown: 2022, coming in fourth place overall.

Skylightz Gaming

The BGMI team of Skylightz Gaming comprised Saumraj, Pukar, Vexe, and Gamlaboy, who started off playing PUBG Mobile with Skylightz Gaming. They prospered further while playing Battlegrounds Mobile and were able to establish themselves in the Indian esports scene. Vexe quit the group in August of this year. The players are expected to be signed up by prominent esports companies in the near future based on their past performances and calibre. It is important to note that Skylightz Gaming has not completely ceased operating in India. They recently released the lineup for PUBG New State Mobile. The squad is presently taking part in the Snapdragon Invitational.
