This move was made despite BGMI being released specifically for the Indian market, after the ban of PUBG Mobile. Fans of the game have been eagerly waiting for its return. There were many rumors regarding the return of the game at the end of 2022, but it now seems unlikely.
According to reports, BGMI will return in a whole new version. Rumors also suggest that the game will be released with new publishers, and will soon be accessible in India again. BGMI may be renamed and reintroduced in the nation at the start of the next year.

According to a report published by the market research and consulting firm Niko Partners, the BGMI ban may impede the growth of the Indian Gaming Market in 2023. This is because the game’s ban in the country may have a negative influence on the country’s economic growth.
Will BGMI return in India?
BGMI will most likely be relaunched under a new, India-specific subsidiary of Krafton, the South Korean game publisher that produced PUBG Mobile before cutting all connections with Tencent. If the game is to be restarted, the servers and data created by it must be geographically situated within India’s sovereign borders. This is what Krafton agreed upon before when BGMI was released after the ban of PUBG.
How to play BGMI after a ban
Those having the game already installed can continue to play it. Apart from the lack of new RP missions and seasons, players can still play BGMI. The servers of the game are still active. Those who do not have the game already installed can download the APK file of the game. Here’s how to do this:
- Visit the APK download site of the BGMI game on any trusted APK site of your choice. APK pure or TapTap are some good options.
- You will then see a ‘download’ button for the latest APK file. Click it.
- On clicking this button, the download will begin.
- Once it is downloaded, you will have to allow installation from unknown sources on your phone. To do so, go to settings, then apps and notifications, then special apps access, and click on Install unknown apps.
- Once the APK has finished installing, you can open the game and install the additional resources.
