Garena has designed the Football Squad Mode in such a way that it requires the entire team to strategize and work together. Skills are divided and can only be effective by using teamwork. In the beginning, players must start by selecting a position. Selecting which position to play is vital since each position has a distinct skill. You can either choose to be a striker or a defender. The two positions differ in abilities. Strikers can race forward at a fast speed for 0.3 seconds. Players can replenish the skill in 45 seconds. This skill can be used multiple times with a cap of 3 uses. Defenders, on the other hand, can create force fields to defend their team against opponents. This force field lasts for 2 seconds and has a cooldown time of 60 seconds.

You can also pick up buffs and other items that are scattered across the field. Players can shoot the footballs in the direction that they want them to move, in order to move them to the goal. This is how players can score points. At the end of the game, the team with the most points wins the game. This is quite similar to real football.
