The BGMI ban left a gaping void in the Indian gaming community that seems impossible to fill. Casual gamers are missing the game they spent most of their days on. Professional gamers who made a living out of it are also suffering due to the lack of clarity on the BGMI return date.
In July 2022, the Indian government pulled BGMI from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. The game’s comeback has been questionable ever since. The game was supposed to return in January 2023. However, that didn’t happen.
In the absence of BGMI, PUBG New State Mobile has begun to take pace. There have been several LAN competitions for the game recently, including two significant LAN events. In order to take advantage of the greater prospects, many BGMI players are moving to New State Mobile.
Team SouL switches to PUBG New State Mobile
Sahil “Omega” Jakhar and Harsh “Goblin” Paudwal, professional Battlegrounds Mobile India players for Team S8ul, have discussed transferring to New State Mobile owing to the BGMI ban. Goblin and Omega spoke about playing both games concurrently.
Omega continued by stating that he has heard that more PUBG New State Mobile LAN events will soon be revealed. They can play New State Mobile and take part in LAN events, according to Goblin, which is better than simply hanging about in bootcamp.
Omega and Goblin will consult with the group about moving to New State Mobile.
Sohail “Hector” Shaikh of Team SouL participated in the most recent Snapdragon Pro Series New State Mobile Open India as the in-game leader for TeamXSpark. The squad advanced to the championship round and took 16th place.
Recent BGMI practice scrims that Omega participated in included Goblin, Hemanth “Ultron” Sethi, and Naman “Neyo.” The participants talked about Hector’s performance at the Snapdragon Pro Series New State Mobile Open India during this event. Omega remarked,
“We sent Hector to get some insights on the game. So that if we plan to enter New State Mobile esports, as a lot of tournaments are taking place, Hector will guide us.”
Playing both BGMI & New State Mobile
Goblin added that people may participate in both games at once. Goblin and Omega came to the same conclusion, and they both agreed that they could play and practise BGMI all day while playing a few games of New State Mobile at night.
“Let’s wait for the news to be announced first. I have heard that there will be two to three LAN tournaments back to back,” Omega stated. Then Goblin said that a New State Mobile LAN competition is also being held by Upthrust Esports.
Omega asserted that switching to New State Mobile would result in losses for him and Goblin. Omega was asked about the losses they would endure, but he withheld any more information.
After that, Goblin said, “Yes, but we will get to have fun in LAN events. Better than just sitting in the boot camp, we will play LAN.” Omega concluded by saying that he will talk to the squad about transferring from BGMI to New State Mobile.
Taking into consideration the current state of events and the lack of a BGMI unban date in sight, many more gamers might choose to take this route. We will have to wait and see whether this takes place.
