Chelsea have put behind the 0-2 loss at the hands of Manchester City in their opening Premier League 2024-25 encounter with a 2-0 win over Servette in the Europa Conference League Leg 1 of the playoff.
Christopher Nkunku opened the goalscoring account for The Blues in the beginning of the second half via a penalty. Noni Madueke netted the other goal in the 76th minute as The Blues took home a 2-0 advantage heading into the second half.
This was the first victory of Chelsea under their new coach Enzo Maresca and he would be quite happy with his team’s performance. It was Enzo Maresca who had guided Leicester City to the Premier League in this season after finishing at the top of the points table in the EFL Championship 2023-24.
“We are learning how to manage the game. It was important to win the game with nine changes. There were many good things,” said Enzo Maresca after the win.
Chelsea had finished in the 6th position in the Premier League in the previous edition and had qualified for the UEFA Conference League. They would be looking to win this league and present a strong case in the Premier League as well.
