Copa America 2024 Top Goalscorers: Who Won Golden Boot, List Here

Date:

Argentina emerged victorious in the Copa America final 2024, defeating Colombia 1-0 in a tightly contested match at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Despite losing star player Lionel Messi to an ankle injury in the 66th minute, Argentina, the defending champions of the tournament and World Cup 2022 winners, managed to secure their 16th Copa América title.

The winning goal came in the 112th minute of the game, when substitute Lautaro Martinez fired a shot past Colombia’s goalkeeper Camilo Vargas.

Argentina’s Lautaro Martinez was also the top goalscorer at the Copa America 2024, winning the prestigious Golden Boot award with 5 goals. The Inter Milan striker scored twice against Peru, once against Canada, and once against Chile during the group stage to finish as the tournament’s leading marksman.

The race for the Golden Boot was closely contested, with several players in the running heading into the final. However, Martinez ultimately prevailed to claim the award.

Lautaro Martinez’s 5 goals were enough to see him claim the Golden Boot, edging out the likes of Salomon Rondon, Julian Alvarez, and Jhon Cordoba who all finished with 2 or 3 goals.

The all-time top goalscorers in Copa America history are led by Norberto Mendez and Zizinho, both with 17 goals. Lionel Messi is fifth on the list with 14 goals.
