Cristiano Ronaldo Reportedly Unhappy With Al-Nassr Organisers After Failed China Tour

Date:

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr had recently travelled to China for their pre-season tour. The talismanic striker of Al-Nassr had picked up an injury and he couldn’t have participated in that match.

Hence, the Al-Nassr team management had to cancel the match in China. This was primarily because the fans in China were mostly looking forward to Cristiano Ronaldo playing as he has a massive fan-following across the globe.

Cristiano Ronaldo had also recently publicly apologised to the Chinese fans via a press conference.

“For me, today is a sad day. I want to say sorry to the Chinese fans, especially in Shenzhen. “In football, there is always something you cannot control. I am really sad because Al-Nassr and myself have come here to enjoy the tour. I’ve been coming to China since 2003, or 2004, and I feel at home here. I feel this is my second home. We are not cancelling the game. We just postponed the game. We will be back,” said Cristiano Ronaldo via a press conference.

The video broke the internet and several football lovers expressed their love for the Portuguese striker for apologising to the fans and for caring about them.

Now reports suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo was unhappy with the organisers of this tour, SPORT17 and GHY Culture & Media.

Ronaldo reportedly was persuaded to play in friendly matches organised for the public. He was also not happy with the fact that the organisers took his injury lightly and kept promoting it from the time Al-Nassr landed in China.

They had apparently ruled Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury as a light one and kept broadcasting it from the time they landed at the Shenzhen Airport.

“The schedule of Al-Nassr’s China tour was finalized last year and the promotion surrounding Ronaldo was also released early. But if the organizer publicly said that Ronaldo could not play before the game, who would buy tickets?” said a member working for GHY Culture & Media as quoted by Sportskeeda.

Cristiano Ronaldo had a terrific year in 2023

The silky-silked forward, who has previously in his career, played for Manchester United and Real Madrid, had a great stint at Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. Ronaldo scored 54 goals and it was the highest number of goals scored by a player in a calendar year.

Ronaldo inspired Al-Nassr to lift the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023 after they beat Al-Hilal in the finals, 2-1. The 38-year-old footballer had scored a brace in the finals in a solid performance.
