Two of the biggest football tournaments in the Indian footballing ecosystem include the Indian Super League (ISL) and the Durand Cup. While the Durand Cup is the oldest football competition of India, the ISL is the most popular football league in India at the moment.

Durand Cup

The Durand Cup has a myriad of sponsors and the prize pool presently stands at Rs. 70,00,000. The money is divided among the winners, runners-up and the two losing semi-finalists.

Winner: The winner of the Durand Cup gets Rs. 40,00,000.

Runners-up: The runners-up of the Durand Cup get Rs. 20,00,000.

Losing semi-finalists: The losing semi-finalists of the Durand Cup get Rs. 5,00,000 each.

ISL

The number of sponsors of ISL have skyrocketed over the past few years and it is the most lucrative football league in India.

Winner: The winner of the ISL gets Rs. 6 crores

Runners-up: The runners-up of the ISL gets Rs. 3 crores

Losing semi-finalists: The losing semi-finalists of the ISL gets Rs. 1.5 crores each
