Portugal made sure they do not slip-up in their FIFA World Cup 2022 against Ghana as Cristiano Ronaldo netted the first goal for them. Ronaldo thus became the only player to score in 5 different FIFA World Cups.

The Portugal football team was quite aware of the upsets caused to big-guns like Argentina and Germany but they managed to keep their calm and composure. It was an action-filled outing at the Stadium 974 as Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal made a statement of their own.

Cristiano Ronaldo netted a penalty in the 65th minute to bring about the first goal in the match. The whole match erupted into joy and euphoria as the talismanic striker glittered once again after a turmoil in his domestic footballing stint with Manchester United.

Ghana’s Andre Ayew scored a goal to bring about the equaliser but Portugal’s Joao Felix soon got Portugal the lead for the second time in the game. Rafael Leao scored another goal in 2 minutes prior to the previous goal and practically sealed the game for Fernando Santos’s side.

Ghana’s 2nd goal came from the boots of Osman Bukari but it was quite late. The African team failed to net their third goal and Portugal heaved a sigh of relief as they manage to register their first win of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Prior to the starting of the match, Cristiano Ronaldo became emotional while singing the national anthem of Portugal. All is not going well with him after his fiery interview with famous broadcaster Piers Morgan. Manchester United and the legendary striker parted ways with each other following the interview where he spoke about the problems at Old Trafford. He also said that he does not ‘respect’ Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag.
