After the completion of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23, the action will shift to the Hero Super Cup 2023. The entire tournament will be taking place in Kerala and 3 venues have been shortlisted. 2 of these 3 venues will be used for the tournament.
11 teams of the ISL and the winner of the I-League 2022-23 will be getting direct qualification to the Hero Super Cup 2023. The 2-10th teams of the I-League will have to play the qualifiers in order to find a place in the Hero Super Cup 2023 tournament.
FC Goa is the defending champions of this competition and they would be hoping to get another win under their belt and successfully defend the title.
The tournament is happening after a hiatus of 4 years as it couldn’t be held because of the Covid-19 pandemic. FC Goa had beaten Chennaiyin FC in the finals of the last Super Cup, 2-1.
