ISL 2022-23: ATK Mohun Bagan Cruise Into Semi-Finals With 2-0 Victory Against Odisha FC

ATK Mohun Bagan continued their good form in the Indian Super League (ISL) as they raced into the semi-finals in ISL 2022-23 and will now be facing Hyderabad FC. The score-line of this knockout game against the Juggernauts read 2-0 at the iconic Salt Lake Stadium and Hugo Boumous and Dimitri Petratos had netted the goals for the Mariners.

A quick corner around 10 minutes before the halftime saw Manvir Singh flick the ball towards Hugo Boumous, who slotted the ball home with full force. The entire crowd at Salt Lake Stadium erupted into joy as the home side had taken the lead against Odisha FC.

Odisha FC spent the first several minutes of the second half circling the ATKMB box. Jerry Mawihmingthanga nearly pounced on Diego Mauricio’s header across the goal, but he was unable to challenge ATKMB.

In the 57th minute of the game, Dimitri Petratos took a shot from long-range and it flew into the back of the net and ATK Mohun Bagan had taken a strong 2-0 lead in this ISL 2022-23 game.

After the 60th minute, there was a major collision that took place and ATK Mohun Bagan’s keeper Vishal Kaith fell down and was seen in a lot of pain.

The ambulance had to come inside the Field of Play (FOP) and he was stretchered outside. Arsh Shaikh was the new keeper in and Odisha FC tried taking advantage of the new keeper.

But the keeper kept his calm and composure and saw off any threat that came from Odisha FC in front of the goal.

ATK Mohun Bagan thereby qualified for the playoffs and Odisha FC were knocked out of the tournament. The Mariners will now be facing the reigning champions of ISL, Hyderabad FC on March 9th and March 13th in the 1st and the 2nd legs of the semi-final, respectively.
